GIM Japan 2011 - Objective

GIM Japan 2011’s objective is to make the students understand more in detail about the business and economic environment in Japan and also understand the business sectors of their interests. The students will experience many Japanese business environments such as business structure, organization culture, management style, innovation, economic status, emerging trend, trade restriction, and competition.

Moreover, the course will provide an opportunity for students to meet with many high-ranking officials, entrepreneurs, successful business experts in Japan and academic guest speakers to discuss ideas and point of interests which, in turn, can help broadening the students’ horizon and conceptual framework. In the end, students should be able to utilize the knowledge and information they have collected during the course for their future careers or owned businesses.

Lastly, GIM course will require the students to arrange their own curriculum, which means that they will have to initiate ideas and set up classes based on their interests all by themselves. Also, students have to plan their business trip and make an appointment with companies they are going to visit. Each individual will have to participate and contribute to the team in order to accomplish the team’s objectives. This student-led course will help students refine their leadership and management skills.
